A note from your Tree Warden

The Tree warden scheme was setup to provide a local point of contact for any tree related issues, to gather information and encourage practical projects in the community I‚m not a tree expert, and having only recently volunteered I’m very much at the start of the learning curve; however I’m very keen to help protect and maintain our landscape. But I can’t do this alone; I’ll need your help!

Please contact me if you have any ideas for landscape and hedgerow tree planting, or if you’re keen to take part in future projects. Like me, if you can dig a hole or fill a watering can, you’re qualified.

Also if you know of anyone who wants to buy a fifty-acre plot with a runway and wants a forest named after them, please let me know. But seriously, there are grants available for all sizes of plot. For example, the "Free Tree Scheme" which can include private land along side public footpaths or areas of private land that can be viewed from public footpaths.

We all take pride in our landscape heritage. My hope is that we can play a small part in helping in its continuance for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
